Franklin Chick-fil-A to provide free tuition to Team Members

Caleb Peters, Owner and Operator of Chick-fil-A Franklin announced this week that any eligible team member working at the Franklin restaurant will have the opportunity to attend Point University completely free.

“Chick-fil-A Franklin is now offering free college to eligible Team Members,” Peters told staff. “Team Members can now enroll in Point University an online school based in Georgia.”

Founded in 1937, Point University is a private liberal arts institution that educates students to influence culture for Christ in all spheres of life. In addition to our online programs, which provide a broad, comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for their chosen professions, we operate multiple ground campuses throughout Georgia.

Point University offers over 35 accredited associates, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees taught by dedicated faculty who equip the next generation to take their faith into the marketplace in new and culturally relevant ways – to erase the lines between who they are and what they do so that they see life and mission as one and the same.

All Team Members who work at Chick-fil-A will have an opportunity to enroll in the program with tuition being paid for 100% by Chick-fil-A. To be eligible based on Point University standards, employees have to apply for FAFSA and also apply for the Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship.  At the restaurant level, staff will need to commit to at least 20 hours weekly including Saturday availability.

Peters noted that the decision to provide employees with the opportunity to attend college for free was something he made as a local owner, and not something the company provides as a whole.

“This is a huge undertaking that my family and I want as many people as possible to take advantage of,” said Peters. “My goal is to make people the best versions of themselves and a major piece of that is education.  This is not something that every Chick-fil-A is offering, this is something that I am paying for personally.”

Free tuition will be offered to current and future team members, as long as they are employed by Chick-Fil-A Franklin.
