I am always on the hunt for a fresh, fun, new place to eat. Going out to eat is always a treat so anytime I can try out a unique new spot, I make it happen. Over the weekend Nick and I made the trip to Rabun County to check out The Soda Fountain Restaurant, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint!
Tucked away inside a pharmacy, The Soda Fountain is a step back in time with hometown favorites, build your own burgers, daily specials, hand-spun milkshakes, fresh-squeezed drinks & flavored soda’s. It was like a scene from a movie; cute little radio table decor, an entire old fashion drink and candy selection, black and white checked floors with hightop barstools set up at the counter. I LOVE a good theme!
The menu is delectable and the worse part of the entire trip was making my mind up on what to order. After dreading only picking one thing… I settled on a delicious corndog topped with slaw AND sauerkraut! It was savory and plump and the perfect lunch helping. The seasoned side of fries really made the meal superb.
Nick dove into the build your own burger options — which had unique toppings like fried onions, grilled pineapple, fried wontons, and more to choose from, and with a side of onion rings, it was a classic burger staple.
We didn’t get to try it, but they also have an unlimited salad bar, that you better believe I will be back to try!
We, unfortunately, did not indulge in any of their dessert options, but just from the looks of it, their shakes would have been the literal icing on the cake.
The majority of their menu options are more affordable than most fast food options and they are open for lunch and dinner and their specials are always changing!
I would HIGHLY recommend a visit to Rabun to try them out! The Soda Fountain Restaurant is located at 102 South Main Street in Clayton, GA.
