With the biggest shopping week of the year scheduled for next week, The Southern Scoop reached out to local businesses to create a guide to shopping local that won’t break the bank. Small businesses have struggled to keep their doors open through the COVID19 pandemic, so shopping locally this holiday season is more important than ever. Here are just a few of the incredible steals you can find at our locally owned businesses. 

1) A Novel Escape 

A Novel Escape is a locally owned book store that has been serving the Franklin community for the last 13 years. A Novel Escape features the largest selection of used books in western North Carolina. In addition to over 20,000 books, you will also find a robust children’s section, puzzles, DVD movies, audiobooks on CD, and vintage collectible books. Located at 1781 Georgia Road, Franklin NC.

3) Yonder Community Market

The Yonder Community market is located at 151 Hillcrest Avenue in Franklin and grew out of the thriving, locally sourced, farm-to-table cafe, Yonder. The market has a huge selection of local foods and homemade goods. All products have ben through fully selected with a focus on quality and nourishment. 

Georgia Olive Oil (Lakeland, GA) – $15.39 – Pure Georgia Arbequina oil is only available in limited quantities each harvest season. This oil is 100% Georgia grown, EVOO. Its Green and buttery with a fruity finish.

Willa’s Pumpkin Spice Shortbread (Nashville, TN) – $7.70 – Willa’s Shortbread Bites have all the rich, buttery flavor of original shortbread cookies but with they’re added seasonal Pumpkin Spice blend.
