PUT A RING ON IT! – Brasstown Ringers Spring Concert Series
Blairsville, GA – The Brasstown Ringers community handbell ensemble invites you to attend their spring concert season, PUT A RING ON IT! This year’s concert series is dedicated to all those who welcome the power of friendship and the magic of love. May you embrace those connections around you that bring rekindled hope and abundant joy! The following schedule offers five opportunities to catch a concert in your area:
Friday, May 6, 7:00 pm – Hope Lutheran Church, Ellijay, GA
Saturday, May 7, 6:00 pm – New Life Church, Hayesville, NC
Friday, May 13, 7:00 pm – First United Methodist Church, Clayton, GA
Saturday, May 14, 4:00 pm – First Presbyterian Church, Franklin, NC
Sunday, May 15, 5:00 pm – Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, Blue Ridge, GA
In addition to spring and winter performances, the choir has toured Europe, gone on multiple handbell retreats, and performed at the Biltmore House as well as other venues throughout western North Carolina, northeast Georgia and southeast Tennessee. The PUT A RING ON IT! spring concert will showcase the beauty and depth of handbell music and spotlight various ringing techniquesusing Schulmerich bells and Malmark chimes. The program’s variety of selections will feature traditional classics, favorite hymns, Broadway tunes and more!
Originally started in 1992, this advanced handbell group is comprised of current members from across GA, NC and TN, and is directed by Linda Sterrett: (GA) Liza Lawrence, Tom and Jackie Volk; (NC) Danny Ferreira, Sheila Gregory, Steve Holcomb, Aimee Johnson, Theresa Ramsey, Jackie Reed, Anne Rice, Sharon Ruffner, Mark Schickedantz, Kathy Tant, Linda Sterrett (director); and (TN) Lonney and Brett McDonald.
In the event there is a resurgence of COVID19 cases in our area, appropriate CDC guidelines will be followed for everyone’s safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
