The Franklin Chamber of Commerce announces plans are underway for this year’s Annual Christmas Celebration which will officially ring in the holiday season. The celebration will be held Sunday, November 29, beginning at 3:00 pm.
We are excited to announce this year’s celebration will be held with a number of safety precautions in place due to Covid-19 restrictions. We have extended the route onto Highlands Road so that spectators can self-distance. No walkers will be allowed and no items may be handed out including candy, coupons, etc. Spectators are asked to park and remain in their vehicles to watch the “Drive-Up” celebration. We are also asking both participants and spectators to wear a mask while at the celebration. Complimentary masks will be available in front of Town Hall and in the parking lot of City Plumbing & Electric Supply on the day of the celebration. Masks will also be available in advance at the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. “All of these precautions are being put in place for the safety of our community,” said Franklin Chamber’s Executive Director Linda Harbuck.
It is our honor to recognize and thank our Law Enforcement, Emergency & Medical Personnel, Educators and all Essential Workers as this year’s Grand Marshalls. We can’t thank them enough for their service during this unprecedented year. Their service to our community is unwavering. Please be sure to thank these brave men and women whenever you see them.
Entries will line up along Church Street behind the Courthouse. The route will begin by pulling out on the top of Town Hill beside Town Hall. The route will proceed down Main Street turning left at the Lazy Hiker Brewing Company onto Porter Street. Then turn left onto Palmer Street. This year the route will turn onto Highlands Road extending the route to enable social distancing. The route will end at the Franklin Flea Market.
As noted above, due to safety concerns, candy will NOT be passed out this year.
Entry forms can be picked up and returned at the Chamber office located at 98 Hyatt Road. Deadline for entry is Wednesday, November 25 by 5 pm. Please note the Chamber will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, November 26 & 27.
