Franklin Rotary Club Partners with High School Rotary Club to Raise Funds for Foster Families

FRANKLIN, N.C. – Today, charity-focused Franklin High School students will partner with the Franklin Rotary Club to raise funds for Kaylee’s Closet, a nonprofit supporting foster home families.
 
Background: The Rotary Club of Franklin sponsors the high school service organization called Rotary Interact. It teaches students the importance and benefits of community service.
The Interact Club sponsors one local service project and one international service project. Today’s event marks the second annual Powderpuff Games to support a local non-profit in the Franklin community.

WHO: Rotary Interact of Franklin High School and the Rotary Club of Franklin
WHAT: Powderpuff Football Game to raise funds for Kaylee’s Closet, a nonprofit supporting foster families. Proceeds from concession sales and gate fees will make up the donations.

  • Three 15-minute games will be played by Franklin’s female students
  1. Freshman versus Seniors
  2. Sophomores versus Juniors
  3. Winners play 3rd round

 
WHEN: Today, Friday, Nov. 19 with a 3:30 p.m. “tailgate” and 4:30 p.m. kickoff
WHERE: Franklin High School football field

Local sponsors include: Gooder Grafix, Franklin Office Supply, Walmart and Subway.
