Franklin Soccer teams invite public to attend showcase Wednesday

Join the Franklin Panthers Soccer program today October 19 at the Macon Middle School for an afternoon and evening of soccer showcasing the talented athletes that represent Macon Middle School and Franklin High School.

Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the Macon Middle School will play in the final championship game against Apple Valley in the Blue Ridge Athletic Conference Championship. Last week, the MMS school team defeated Brevard 6-2 in Round 2 and Polk County 4-0 in Round 1 to earn their spot in the championship. Today’s game will conclude what has been a perfect season for the middle school with a 10-0 record in regular season play.

This will be the fourth year, the MMS school has seen play in the final championship winning the first ever BRAC championship for the middle school in 2019. Come cheer on the MMS soccer team as they look to another championship victory.

Immediately following the MMS championship game at 5:15 p.m., the FHS Junior Varsity will take on the Smoky Mountain Mustangs. The Franklin JV soccer has an overall record of 6-4-3 and 4-3-1 in the Mountain Seven 3A Conference.

Following the JV game, it will be time to celebrate the FHS seniors in a pivotal match with Smoky Mountain. Senior night festivities will happen immediately after the JV game at 7:00 p.m. Come out to “The Jungle” to watch your Franklin High School Panthers Men’s Varsity team as they face Smoky Mountain High School in The Battle of Cowee Mountain.

The seniors who will be recognized tonight include: Luke VanHook, Noel Rivera-Villa, Charlie Robles, CJ Pelletier, Isaiah Roots, Cristian Chavez, Aaron Arriaga, Nicholas Ocasio, Adan Altamirano, Evan Tripp, Thomas Hernandez-Montejo and Carlos Urquia.

The FHS varsity men’s soccer team has an overall record of 12-4-1 with a conference record of 7-2-1 ranking first in the Mountain Seven 3A Conference.

Come out early to enjoy a great night of soccer and support all threeteams. The teams need their fans to come out and support them. Bring your friends and family to watch these three exciting hometown teams.
