Through the Health and Economic Opportunities program, Pisgah Legal Services staff will be offering free tax preparation services for low-income residents during upcoming events across the region. For those who haven’t received a federal stimulus payment or haven’t filed taxes the last few years, you could qualify for thousands of dollars available through the American Recovery Act.
Tuesday, Sept. 13 – 1-3 p.m. at Graham County Health Department, 191 P and J Rd., Robbinsville and 6-8 p.m. at Five Points Center, 5 N. Main St., Robbinsville
Tuesday, Sep. 20 – 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Macon Program for Progress Training Annex, 82 E. Orchard Lane, Franklin
Wednesday, Sept. 21 – 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Region A Partnership for Children, 367 Dellwood Rd. Suite C-2, Waynesville
Wednesday, Sept. 28 – 1-3 p.m. at Clay County Public Library, 26 Anderson St., Hayesville.
Thursday, Sept. 29 – 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Partnership for Children, 141 Peachtree St., #2909, in Murphy
PLS will also have appointments available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the first and third Thursday of the month at Marianna Black Library in Bryson City and from noon to 4 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Sylva library.
