Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital welcome additional nurse practitioner to Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center

SYLVA, NC – Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital are pleased to welcome Leah Seiger, a nurse practitioner to Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center where she will provide pulmonary services to patients from Jackson, Swain, Macon, and Graham counties and the surrounding region.
 
Seiger specializes in diagnosing and treating chronic and acute conditions of the respiratory tract, as well as sleep-disordered breathing. She joins Gregory Brown, MD, Angela Connaughton, MD, and Jodie Wade, FNP at Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center.
 
“We’re proud of our team providing expert care for pulmonary conditions in the hospital and in the outpatient setting,” said LaCrystal Gordon, Chief Nursing Officer and Interim CEO for Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital. “Leah will be a great addition to the team, seeing patients in the practice and helping us deliver on our mission of Making Communities Healthier in western North Carolina.”
 
Seiger holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Texas A & M University. She is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and a nurse practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Most recently, Seiger cared for patients as a nurse practitioner at South Texas Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates, following service at a diabetes and cardiovascular clinic in Rockport, Texas.
 
Seiger takes a holistic approach to caring for her patients.
 
“I pursued a career in nursing due to my desire to enable vulnerable populations to receive access to quality healthcare,” Seiger said. “I am passionate about nursing because of the rewarding experiences it offers and the opportunities to learn something new every day.”
 
The providers at Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract. The care teams are dedicated to combining clinical expertise, with a focus on wellness and a personalized touch to provide each patient with an individualized care plan.
