HIGHLANDS, N.C. – Highlands Festivals, Inc., the organization that produces the Highlands Food & Wine Festival, announced today the addition of special tasting events to lineup for the weekend-long event set to be held Nov. 10-13, 2022. The new events include a “Tour de France” wine tasting with Vineyard Brands, “Supper & Song” dinner and fireside set, and “In Good Taste” sustainable business choices discussion with experts from Tarpon Cellars, Oysters Carolina and Highlander Mountain House.

Tour de France – Friday, Nov. 11, 4:00-5:30 p.m., Skyline Lodge
Enjoy cycling through five French vineyards from the high Alps to the Riviera and everywhere in between. Approach the “finish line” Skyline Lodge-style while enjoying their beautiful grounds and light hearted approach to The Plateau life.
Supper & Song – Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m., Highlander Mountain House
Join us in the cozy Ruffed Grouse Tavern as award-winning Top Chefs Katsuji Tanabe and Annie Pettry collaborate to bring you an exquisite culinary experience alongside Tarpon Cellars wines. Following the meal, music festival artist Lilly Hiatt will serenade you with a fireside set.
In Good Taste – Saturday, Nov. 12, 4:00-5:30 p.m., Highlander Mountain House
Sustainability isn’t just a hype word, it’s a lifestyle choice. Drink and sip with JeremyCarter of Tarpon Cellars, Ryan Bethesda of Oysters Carolina, and Jason Reeves of Highlander Mountain House & Highlander Outpost as they discuss sustainable business choices and how they work for the consumer.
This year’s festival also includes the popular Grand Tasting, Truckin’, Main Event, and Sunday Shindig events, as well as the return of the Generous Pour fundraiser. The four-day-long festival features world-class food from renowned local and regional chefs from across the Southeast for exquisite culinary experiences capped with live music from today’s top artists.

Autumn Vendange Harvest Lunch – Friday, Nov. 11, 4:00-5:30 p.m., Highlands Wine Shoppe
Gather at the Highlands Wine Shoppe to celebrate the wine harvest and enjoy a delicious communal meal featuring classic French dishes with seasonally-inspired wines.
Far Niente Family of Wines Dinner – Friday, Nov. 11, 6:30 p.m., Oak Steakhouse
Chefs Matt Weinstein of Oak Steakhouse Highlands and Scott Kroener of Oak Steakhouse Nashville collaborate to complement the much-lauded Far Niente family of wines (including the beloved Nickel and Nickel) with four courses of classic steakhouse fare. Hosted in Skyline Lodge’s mountain view private dining room, the dinner will uncork the celebrated California wines with three savory courses and a dessert. Those unfamiliar with Far Niente’s dessert wine will have the chance to experience what is commonly referred to as the “liquid gold” as their finale to the evening. Kim Unterreiner of Far Niente Family of Wines will join the culinary team for this experiential, educational, delicious dinner.
A Tour of the Rhone Valley – Friday, Nov. 11, (Time TBD), The Vineyard at 37 High Holly
Featuring the award winning wines of Ferraton Peres & Fils Vineyards paired with classic French cuisine from Chef Tim Lundy. Enjoy stunning cheeses, escargot, foie gras, duck breast and bouillabaisse with wines from Cornas, Chateauneuf du Pape, and Saint Joseph, to name a few.
Champagne 101 Class – Saturday, Nov. 12, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Highlands Wine Shoppe
Learn, sip and swill your way through France’s Champagne region.
Argyle Wine Dinner – Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m., On the Verandah
A marvelous six-course event, with dishes selected by Chefs Andrew, Jerri, and Brandi to perfectly match selections from Argyle Winery.
Bourbon Dinner featuring Chef Adam Bresnahan – Saturday, Nov. 12, 6:30 p.m.
Chef Adam Bresnahan and his team have come together once again to present you with a fun evening filled with delicious food and equally tasty bourbon pairings. Presented by 4118 Kitchen + Bar.
Farm Harvest Dinner & Barn Dance – Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m. The Farm at Old Edwards
Get ready for a full-on evening of authentic mountain culture. Your senses will come alive with sights, sounds, smells and flavors of farm-fresh creations being prepared live. Meet the farmers and feast on their bounty. Event is for guests 21 and older.
