Holly Springs Children’s Mission surprises Sheriff’s Office with ‘Blessing Bags’

Once a month, Bible Club at Holly Springs Baptist
church dedicates the last Wednesday of the month for a “Missions Night.” The event looks at needs within the community and acts as a service project to give back. For January, Holly Springs Kids chose to create “Blessing Bags” with goodies for members of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.
“Sometimes we get so focused on doing the job, we forget that the youngest members of our community are watching,” said Patrol Captain Clay Bryson. “Getting to spend some time with the folks at Holly Springs was the perfect reminder and a great way to kick off the week.”
The bags contained snacks and goodies for officers to keep in their patrol cars like chips, crackers, tissues and even included a special note.
“Thank you for all you do Greater love has no man than this, that he who lays down his life for his friends.” -John 15:13 We appreciate you, your service to our community, and the risk you face every day to keep us safe. We see the sacrifices you make and we love you. Thank you for being our Hero.”
“The employees of the MCSO and I are so appreciative of the kindness expressed to us from those who came to visit us today,” Sheriff Robert Holland said. “We all feel incredibly blessed to live and serve in a community that supports the men & women the way they do.”
Not only did the group provide bags for officers in the department, they included five special bags for the department’s K9 — which of course included dog treats and a brand new toy!
“The kids were very happy to meet these brave men and women (and amazing dogs) who serve our community,” said Charissa Corbin with Holly Springs Baptist Church. “We are so very thankful for our local law enforcement and appreciate the sacrifices they make for us daily.”
