On Friday, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a grand opening/ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new members at Birthstone Breastfeeding and Wellness Center.
Located at 494 W. Main St., in Sylva, N.C., Birthstone is a perinatal wellness center devoted to community-based care and support. They offer skilled and compassionate lactation support, chiropractic care, massage therapy, mental health therapy, breastfeeding and childbirth education, a Movin’ Mamas walking group, a fertility support circle, Full Spectrum Doula services, NICU support group, baby led weaning cooking class, mommy self-care events, and loss support groups. They also have a retail boutique offering a wide array of items such as maternity clothes, herbal products, postpartum recovery care, and more.
They are now open Monday through Friday by appointment only, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 18, they will have an official grand opening celebration from 1-6 p.m., with a champagne toast at 3 p.m., just before live music.
