Neighborhood complaints lead to drug arrest

Arrests at home classified as Neighborhood Nuisance by Sheriff’s Office


On July 1st, 2020 the Macon County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit, Franklin Police Department and NC SBI executed a residential search warrant on a residence in the Cowee area after a series of controlled purchases of heroin made from within the residence. The residence was classified a neighborhood nuisance by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit due to continued complaints of high vehicle traffic and suspected drug activity. The following subjects were arrested at the residence following the narcotic investigation and execution of search warrant.

Valerie Bierlein
Charges include: Sell and Deliver Heroin
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Heroin
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine

$25,000 Secured Bond set
