Raleigh, NC – On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, Representative Karl E. Gillespie (R-Macon) announced his intention to seek a second term to the North Carolina House of Representatives.
“As a first-term legislator, I have had an opportunity to gain valuable experience and build strong working relationships,” stated Representative Gillespie. “As a result, we were able to hit the ground running and deliver for Western North Carolina, securing substantial funding for capital improvements and projects for the district. Having gained this knowledge and experience, it would be an honor to continue serving as a public servant for the citizens of House District 120.”
A long-term business owner and fifth generation Maconian, Representative Gillespie lives on their family farm in Macon County with his wife Janet. Representative Gillespie’s current committee assignments include: Agriculture, Appropriations, Appropriations-Education, Vice-Chairman of Federal Relations and American Indian Affairs, and Vice-Chairman of the Wildlife Resources Committee.
