Uptown Gallery’s ArtFest raffle officially launched July 1, when two visitors from Atlanta bought the first ticket.
Gallery Artist on Duty Dan Dirr (right) sold the ticket to Kiva Bostwick and Kent Aberle, who hope theirs is the winner for the original painting “Fall Mist in the Smokies” by award-winning local artist Carol Conti.
Tickets are on sale at the gallery for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. The winning ticket will be drawn Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Blue Jazz Concert at Tartan Hall. The concert will be the capstone for a weekend of ArtFest events. Free art activities, demonstrations, films and an art show by members of the Macon County Art Association will be held Aug. 11, 12 and 13 at the Macon County Library.
Proceeds from the Raffle and Silent Auction at the concert will benefit art programs and art teacher professional development in Macon County Public Schools.
