A message from MCAF President Brian Aulisio

By this time last year, the Macon County Academic Foundation would have approved thousands of dollars in grant money for in-class project materials and field trips. Grant funds are raised at the annual Academic Auction  which, due to the pandemic, had to be canceled this year for the first time in MCAF’s history. Unfortunately, this severely reduced the amount of money now available for teachers to use.

Despite this setback, we are very thankful for the good folks at Ruby Cinema in Franklin for offering a safe place to continue what has become a new Christmas tradition in Macon County: the Polar Express movie!

The cost this year will be $20 per vehicle (load up grandma’s station wagon!) and concessions will be available from the theater.  The movie will be shown two nights, Dec. 18th and 19th.

MCAF still has funds available, so do not hesitate to contact me or your school’s representative to apply for grant money towards your class project.
