Macon County Schools Superintendent Dr. Chris Baldwin provided the board of education with a snapshot of COVID19 within the school system since school began. Using data collected by the Macon County Department of Public Health, Dr. Baldwin presented a breakdown of positive cases as well as quarantines at each school in the district.
Since school began in August, Macon County Schools have has 28 staff test positive with a total of 95 quarantined due to exposure. There have been 32 students test positive within Macon County Schools, with 575 needing to quarantine due to exposure.
As of Monday, November 16, the Macon County Board of Education reported that the school system currently has 10 positive cases within the school system and 59 individuals in quarantine, which the school system attributes to Halloween weekend events and activities.
