Macon Early College Principal Mr. Mark Sutton has been selected the 2021-22 Macon County Schools Principal of the Year!
Mr. Sutton is beginning his sixth year as Principal of Macon Early College. This is his 12th year as an administrator in Macon County and his 22nd year as a Macon County School Employee. He was born and reared here in Macon County and graduated from Franklin High School in 1996. He received a BA degree in Education in 2000, a Master’s degree in Education in 2002, and an MA degree in School Administration in 2008, all from WCU.
He most recently earned an Education Specialist in Administration and Supervision with a concentration in Superintendent degree in 2019 from ECU. He has been married to his wife Alise for 20 years and they have 3 children; Addix 14, Paxton 11, and Michael 7. He enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, sports, and volunteering in the community. Mr. Sutton states that “I am driven by a lifelong passion to work with children.”
