The Franklin Chamber of Commerce was proud to welcome the Slanted Window Tasting Station to the community and the chamber family with a recent ribbon cutting celebration. The Slanted Window Tasting Station is located at 587 Harrison Avenue.
The Slanted Window Tasting Station is Macon County’s first and only local vineyard to bottle wine experience.
In 2011, while restoring their 1878 farmhouse, The Slanted Window owners discovered a distinctive “Slanted Window” that had been previously covered over with siding. Peering from behind that window on the second floor porch was a beautiful view of the sky and vineyard.
The “Slanted Window” namesake was selected because according to owners it “gives us pause to consider different perspectives, not unlike the journey of winemaking and wine tasting. So pull up a chair and have a sip, because one glass can lead to a lifetime of memories.”
Slanted Window Wines are crafted from decades-old vines at SenAmore Vineyards in the ancient Appalachian Mountains. Wanting to offer a taste to locals and passerby alike the Slanted Window Tasting Station was born. Blazing the trail for Western North Carolina winemaking, their dedication to the craft and love for the land is transformed in every bottle. From European style red and white wines to our Pyment (a co-fermentation of honey and grapes), The Slanted Window has a wine that will satisfy every palate.
If wine isn’t for you, they also offer local North Carolina beer and bourbon tastings. To pair everything off, their Italian born chef has curated a menu of delectable charcuterie boards, salads, sandwiches, and more.
