JCSO arrest two after shooting in Glenville community

During the morning of September 15, 2021, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Big Ridge Road in the Glenville Community of Jackson County following a 911 call that indicated there had been a shooting at that location and the victim of the shooting was still there but the shooter had fled.

Deputies arrived and secured the scene and Glenville Cashiers EMS arrived and treated the patient who was taken to Mission Hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg.

During the investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect and an accomplice who aided the suspect in fleeing the scene. Arrests were made on both individuals on the same day as the shooting as both suspects returned back to the area of the shooting at different times.

Christian Sammons was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Felisha Coggins was also arrested and was charged with accessory after the fact for her involvment.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are continuing and further charges are likely.  The victim remained at Mission Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
