In The Irons Equestrian Academy’s riders closed out their very first Interscholastic Equestrian Association season this past Sunday. The Interscholastic Equestrian Association gives riders the opportunity to compete on different horses, many of which the riders have never ridden or even had a chance to warm up before. This allows them to show their true knowledge of riding to the judge, and their scores are solely based on their riding ability and horsemanship. The riders at In The Irons Equestrian completed their season at Walnut Creek Farm in Newton, NC on the 23rd with Emily Moses placing fifth place in her flat riding class (meaning no jumps) and fourth in her jumping class, Lucia Smithdeal placing third in her flat class and sixth in her jumping class, Charlie Merritt placing sixth in her flat class and second in her jumping class, and Annalise Wike placing second in her flat class as our flat only rider this year.
Each of our riders will begin their riding season once again in March of 2023, competing in hunter/ jumping, equitation, dressage, and eventing at various competition venues. As their coach I am very proud of the confidence and achievements these ladies have earned this season.
