Macon County Schools welcome new leadership for 2023-24 school year; most schools will provide free lunch

When students return for school next week, it is likely there will be new faces within their school's administration to greet them.

In addition to the first new Superintendent for Macon County Schools in a decade with Josh Lynch being named as Dr. Chris Baldwin's successor this summer, seven out of the district's 12 schools will have new members of their administration.

While most of the faces eager to greet students next week will be familiar faces for parents, as they have transitioned from other roles within the school system, students in Highlands School will have a new Assistant Principal who will still be unpacking her boxes when the first bell rings.
