The Macon County Sheriff’s Office and Macon Early College have been specially requested by Santa himself to help out this Christmas. Santa delivered a big red mailbox to the Macon County Public Library that will allow kids to write a letter directly to Santa.
“Christmas is such a magical time of year for so many, and Santa’s Mailbox has become a tradition for the Macon County Sheriff’s Office over the last several years. We wanted to continue to do a little something special to help spread some holiday magic to families in our community,” said Sheriff Brent Holbrooks. “We are grateful for the library staff for serving as a central location for our mailbox and are excited for students at Macon Early College to help respond to each and ever letter we receive. Make sure that you include a return address on your letter, so Santa can send a personalized letter back to your child.”
With Macon Early College and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office acting as Santa’s elves, every boy and girl who writes a letter to Santa and drops it in Santa’s mailbox located inside the lobby of the Macon County Public Library will get a special personalized letter back from Santa himself!
Sheriff Brent Holbrooks is encouraging teachers to have their classes submit letters as a group and then the class will receive individual replies sent to their classroom teacher to have a fun activity to do together. Teachers can collect the letters and give them to their SRO, who will deliver the letters to Santa’s mailbox.
The mailbox will be located inside the Macon County Public Library lobby until December 19.
