The snow is here and for much of Western North Carolina, it’s continuing to cascade over the mountains – and it looks like it’s going to be that way for a few more hours. If you’ve been to the store in the last 24 hours, you’ve probably seen empty shelves where loaves of bread were once stacked, open spaces in the refrigerators that were once occupied by milk, and lone cans of beans here and there along the aisles. While we gathered our groceries and scavenged for the sleds and tubes in the corners of our garages, the hardworking folks at Major League Tree are preparing in totally different ways.
That’s right – while we hunker down after a little afternoon sledding, this incredible business will be braving the hazardous conditions created by a heavy, wet snow. Major League Tree specializes in removing trees posing danger and boasts over 25 years of experience in doing so. Currently, Duke Energy is estimating 750,000 people could lose power in the Carolinas – many of those outages will be attributed to downed limbs and trees that have been precariously hovering over powerlines. While it’s too late to get ahead of the snowfall, make sure you have the phone number for Major League Tree saved in case you find yourself with any downed limbs – 828.506.4798. Additionally, if you are experiencing a power outage, contact Duke by texting “OUT” to 57801.
Sending a huge thank you to the members of Major League Tree – thank you for serving WNC and keeping us safe on the roads and in our homes!
