Swain County Sheriff’s Office looking for stolen vehicle connected to homicide

Lenore Dawn Morris, 60, was murdered her home on Deep Gap in Swain County on Friday, August 14. The Swain County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday they were looking for a Dark Blue 2002 Ford Explorer with the tag number BCK-5266 after it was reported missing from a Deep Gap Residence in the Alarka Community. The vehicle belongs to Morris and was reportedly stolen from her residence after she was murdered late Friday.

The Sheriff’s Department is also seeking information regarding a male and female that had been staying at the same residence between August 5 and August 14 when the murder occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact the Swain County Sheriff’s Office at 828-488-0159.  Law enforcement advises not to approach the vehicle, and to call authorities immediately.
