The Inside Scoop: You’re invited to Thanksgiving at our house

Being alone for the holidays is a difficult reality so many people in our community face. The loss of loved ones, difficulties in traveling, and other factors result in many of our friends and neighbors finding themselves alone this Thanksgiving. My family and I wanted to do something to change that. So if you find yourself without anywhere to celebrate this Thanksgiving, you are invited to spend it with us in our home in Franklin.

I know that sounds crazy… why would I invite strangers to our home? Well, the truth is, to me you all aren’t strangers. If you are reading this, chances our you read the Southern Scoop — so in reality we talk every day. So what better way to fellowship than over a delicious community Thanksgiving meal.

We will be providing the turkey and any sides we need. The only thing you need to bring is yourself! If you do want to bring something, we have set up an online sign up for to make the meal a potluck style gathering.

Our home will open for guests at noon on Thanksgiving and we plan to eat around 2 p.m. We would love to have you join our family for Thanksgiving.
