
On 12/07/2021 the Narcotics Unit of the Macon County Sheriff Office & Franklin Police Department assisted officers with North Carolina Probation and Parole on a search at 434 Rogers Road in Franklin. A large amount of fentanyl, as well as what detectives suspect to be carfentanyl, was found in the suspect’s bedroom. The narcotics found during the search were seized and will be sent to be analyzed at the SBI crime lab in an effort to make positive identification of the illegal substance. The female suspect, who is a convicted felon was also in possession of a handgun. The M&P .380 handgun was found hidden under a mattress in the bedroom.
Reyna Angelica Garcilita was charged with Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Schedule I controlled substance, Maintaining a Dwelling Place for a controlled substance and, Possession of Firearm by Felon. The bond for the new charges was set at $2,000,000. The investigations remains ongoing.
